A Paris court has ruled against ten people for engaging in the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced charges of disseminating false claims regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to publishing hurtful comments about the pair's age disparity of 24 years.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has yet to be released.

This latest legal outcome in France is concurrent with the Macrons engaging in a libel case in the US against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted comparable unfounded claims about the first lady's gender.
Their lawsuit alleges that Owens disregarded any factual proof disproving her claim choosing instead to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has often echoed these allegations on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she was a teacher at his lycée.
The couple tied the knot in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
